18-21 YR OLD YOUTH NO LONGER WANTED IN BSA!
GUN OWNERSHIP TO FALL AS CREWS SUFFER LOSS!

Did you know that there's GIRLS in the Boy Scouts being taught how to safely handle & shoot all three popular firearm platforms? Did you know that the females in the scouts OUTSHOOT their male counterparts (in most cases)? Co-Ed BSA Venturing Crews (not Troops) have "specialties" that they are chartered with, and SHOOTING CREWS of Venturing Scouts exist all over New Jersey and the USA. Ages for scouts in Crews runs up until the youth reach 21, unlike the traditional Boy Scouts where you "age-out" at 18. This allows dedicated adult volunteers the time to help those young women & men desiring to be gun owners themselves in filling out the application(s) when they turn 18, the minimum age to buy long guns in most states!

The BSA Venturing program is the only one of its kind in America, and goes way beyond 4-H in regards to firearms training. The Girl Scouts offer no firearms programming whatsoever. A little-known secret of sorts is that the adult volunteers attached to Venturing Crews are allowed to do HAND GUN instruction and not merely use rifles & scatterguns. They hold NRA credentials and can award certificates to the 18-21 year old Crew members. In "free America" these certificates qualify the bearer to apply for & receive CARRY PERMITS in states where proficiency is stipulated on the application!

With this announcement printed herein comes the inevitable loss of youth applying for & obtaining firearm purchasing "PERMISSION", which can be used their entire lifetimes. Life will "get in the way" even more than it does already. College, trade school, employment to make ends meet all take their toll as it is. This is just another nail in the coffin of gun ownership in our great country. A small nail, but a nail nonetheless.

Lack of support by the Boy Scouts due to insurance costs of maintaining a co-ed program in today's lawsuit-rich environment, combined with loss of program income due to Covid and other serious factors, has resulted in this (to this writer) reprehensible but little-advertised decision.

The Boy Scouts of America is under tremendous pressure these days to just stay afloat. We get it. Bankruptcy filings created by past decades of unchecked alleged sexual abuse has brought the program to its knees. Can the BSA survive? Only time will tell.

As a Shootist, Rosenthal has mentored hundreds of youth in his lifetime, starting with the local Troop his son Andy joined.

Running Turkey Shoot fundraisers where the boys used his shotguns to shoot the paper targets to determine the winners, assisting at scout camp with rifle & shotgun merit badges, and being a reference for multiple firearms permitting applications for Eagle Scouts he'd trained, "Rosey" has scouting in his blood. Last pheasant season he mentored 16 year old USPSA Grand Master static steel champion Emily Cutts on her first pheasant hunt.

His last self-assignment in scouting was an adult volunteer for a BSA Venturing Crew in Morganville, NJ that SHOOTS! Having witnessed the positive life experiences transferred to 18-21 year old women and men first-hand, he knows the value a firearms education brings to everyday life. Volunteering in scouting since his Eagle Scout crossed the bridge from Webelo's over 20 years ago, he's witnessed all the good that scouting teaches. Rosenthal believes elimination of the 18-21 age group in Venturing stymies gun rights education AND gun ownership.

These last several months the world went to hell in a hand basket. The Covid "Plandemick" brought about death, "social distancing", joblessness and the whims of our state Dictator in-Chief (Governor Murphy & his two sidekicks Grewal and Callahan), which included closing every firing range in New Jersey! All through this somewhat insurmountable struggle, with lawsuit after lawsuit to put our oppressors on notice, stood a mountain of a man, with the weight of every NJ gun owner on his shoulders, who puffed on his CAO Brazilia cigars while leading from the front as "the Tip of The Spear". ANJRPC Executive Vice President, owner of Gun For Hire Woodland Park Range, host of Gun For Hire Radio and NRA Board member Anthony Colandro.

While almost every other range owner cowered in the corner, afraid to call-out the unconstitutional singling-out of gun ranges (both open-air like ANJRPC's Cherry Ridge in Highland Lakes, NJ, AND all indoor ranges) for fear or reprisal, Colandro used social media to visit nearly 170 2nd Amendment friendly businesses struggling to stay open. His "Quarantine Crawl" interviewed 10 businesses per week on average for the 17 weeks his range was forced CLOSED! He set up a website to follow along, and some of his followers are aggressively patronizing these 2A-friendly locations to "keep it in the family".

Leading from the front, by example, is the only thing he knows how to do. For this reason and too many more to list, we're grateful to all NRA voting members for returning our "Tip of The Spear" to the NRA Board of Directors!

Cook always detours to Gun For Hire when he's in the area, having been to Washington, D.C. yesterday for "The DC Project", an all-female #2AHeavyLifter event where women from most of the 50 states gather to visit their Representatives with scheduled meetings!

In a move that surprised no one, the state of New Germany has decided in its infinite wisdom to close perfectly acceptable open-air shooting & archery range facilities because they claim they don't have the personnel to man them. While on the surface this may seem viable, the reality is you never see a single NJF&W person on patrol, 'cept for the Conservation Cops during hunting season---which aren't affected by this state 3 week furlough! So, as yet another way to screw NJ gun owners because he CAN, our chief executive has once again taken-out his distaste for all things that go BANG! And FWIW, the dumpsters at the WMA's are serviced weekly by contract, so us taxpayers will pay to have empty dumpsters tipped!

As a leader in the fight to restore full rights to New Jersey gun owners, the Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners did launch on July 1st a salvo of facts at our oppressors infesting the state capitol. This Op-Ed brings to light a problem we in NJ have faced and dealt with for years ---pinned stocks on our AR's! Imagine if you will a land where one size fits all in THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

The politicians here in NJ want to "feel good" about a "gun problem" that simply doesn't exist (rampant misuse of the most popular rifle in America -- see FBI crime stats for debunking), so they cave to pressure to make it "go away" then propose, sign into law and enforce the "obvious-to-anyone-except-the-U.S. Supreme Court" unconstitutional laws and rules regarding semi-auto rifle possession in NJ that law abiding gun owners are saddled with. Adjustable stocks on semi-auto rifles are EVIL and therefore must be VERBOTEN! Flash suppressors, pistol grips, and bayonet lugs are also EVIL, but today's rant doesn't cover that real estate...

Trouble is, the stated purpose of all of these "feel-good" measures is "getting more guns off the streets". That's an oxymoronic joke because the reality is Dad needs his own AR, and so does Mom. If they're blessed with kids, NJ parents need a third one to train the kids how to shoot! Why you ask? Because in The People's Republic of New Jerseystan, it's ILLEGAL to have an adjustable-length shoulder stock on a semi-auto rifle that can accommodate all arm lengths in a family! Having one is an indictable offense (FELONY) that will buy you YEARS in JAIL!

NJ FFL's are a sworn accomplice to this breach of all things holy and therefore must administer "THE FIX" prior to releasing such a deadly "military-style weapon" into the populace. NJ gun owners are allowed 3 "evil features":

Semi-auto operation, loading via detachable mags, and pistol grips. Leaving the bayonet lug on and/or flash suppressor instantly modifies this platform into an evil weapon of death & destruction, punishable by YEARS in JAIL! Because stock pinning is more important than stopping riots or keeping aggressive inmates jailed during the great Covid Caper of 2020...

"Imagine if you would going to the dealer to buy a fancy new car with 12 way adjustable power seats. Now imagine the manager tells you to get into the car and adjust it to the way you like it. Imagine in your mind where he then permanently disables it so you can never adjust it again. THAT my friend is the "logic" of NJ gun laws. So now since you are 6'-3", your 5'-1" wife will never be able to drive that car, and you will have to buy ANOTHER CAR so she can reach the pedals. New Jersey's state capitol in Trenton is where all logic and reason goes to die! Political hacks, under the control of the red-shirted Karen's from Mom's Demand Action gun grabbers, have bought into a systemic plan of "feel-good" gun control by ridding the country of the most popular and easiest for women to use with accuracy firearms platform ---the AR-15! They take a bite from the apple every chance they get, and NJ's gun owners always lose!

As a #2AHeavyLifter in the Communist People's Republic of New Jerseystan it's not easy.
