SHOOTER READY! STAND-BY! BEEEEEEEP! USPSA 3-Gunner to-be Shyanne Roberts was the youngest witness in the history of Second Amendment civil rights in New Jersey! She testified, at just nine years of age, what a magazine ban would do to her hopes of competing in 3-Gun in New Jersey. She did so in front of the NJ Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee at a hearing chaired by Charles Mainor. She read from a prepared statement, in her own words, what a magazine restriction to 10 rounds would do to the 3-Gun sport she loves. Mainor was the pompous Trenton ringmaster that declared, "It's MY MEETING!" and "We'll VOTE on this Bill and THEN LISTEN to what ya'll have to say AFTER!"...

Roberts, the daughter of Ammoland contributor Dan Roberts, broke glass ceilings everywhere she shot, even having a club rule prohibiting someone her age from gun handling suspended so she could enter static steel competitions. The family, with brother CJ (Keystone Manufacturing's official Poster Boy for their Cricket rifle line), moved several times for greener pastures, winding up in South Carolina, just over the North Carolina border.

She's now part of a Co-Ed 24-person High School Clay Target Shooting Team, one of a handful in the state, at Clover HS near York, SC. The little girl that so impressed Gun For Hire's owner Anthony Colandro that he became her first sponsor, remains a trendsetter everyone can be proud of.
